the last owner waited too long to get around to restoring this Mach 1.... he died of old age. in Edmond, Oklahoma

Found in in Edmond, Oklahoma, this 1969 Mach 1 R-code is one of only 216 Mach 1 Cobra Jets ordered with the close-ratio four-speed manual and painted Gulfstream Aqua with the optional Sport Deck rear seats and 3.50 Traction-Lok rear with the Visibility Group, and Deluxe Seat Belts option. But this Mustang is the only one that also came with an AM radio.

That makes is another one of one rarity.

  1. The man rebuilding it was self taught, he took classes at the local community college in welding and body work and the work he performed has been said to be damn close to just needing a final blocking. Problem was, he'd only work on it here & there over the years. They knew it was 1 of 1, they had the marti report. Virtually every nut & bolt was removed from the vehicle, most not labeled and I believe the original block is AWOL....

    1. I believe it, every word. Yeah, no doubt the engine is gone, that is probably the reason it stopped being a driver. My theory is something causes a car to get stored, and removed from the commuter level driving, and in most cases, it's a repair job too expensive for the original owner

    2. The Coffee Walk/Dennis Collins video is the closest thing to learning the story, the former owners wife chimes in from time to time....I think it was just a find the former owner took interest in and wanted, learning more about the car as he progressed....after a quick review, the block is in fact there....as well as another motor.
