70% of the 10 super speeders are driving brand-new cars purchased in the past two years, and include a 2023 Audi A6 and 2022 Land Rover Range Rover. Vehicles with the majority of their fines unpaid include a 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica, and a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban.

Now tell me why New York doesn't just put a cop on any one of those intersections, or, take some legal action on these drivers, like, revoke their drivers license, then impound their vehicles?

it was easy to predict that as soon as govts got greedy, and went tech to fine more drivers for speeding, instead of hiring more cops to simply do their damn job.... that someone would hack the cameras, or the computers they connect to, or they would simply malfunction, like all computers to (turn it off, than back on, and reboot it... why is that always the answer?)

Ontario first authorized the use of ASE cameras in 2017 to improve road safety in school and community zones where speed limits are under 80 km/h.

Speed camera enforcement has been controversial in cities across Ontario. In Toronto, a camera on Parkside Drive was cut down for the sixth time since November, even after another surveillance camera was installed to catch vandals. In Vaughan, the program was paused after it issued over 32,000 tickets in just three weeks.

Some municipalities, like York Region, have brought in over $11.5 million since launching their programs, raising questions about the role of revenue in the use of speed cameras.

 Speeding “scameras” make it next to impossible for drivers to challenge their tickets.

 The companies that provide speeding cameras to local police often handle fine collections and contested tickets, leaving no local avenue for appeals by motorists who want to challenge their citations.

Senator Cathey introduced a new law last year that established requirements for using speeding enforcement cameras in Louisiana.

 They include signage to let motorists know they are being monitored. 

Plus, cities and towns must provide a local administrative process for motorists to appeal their tickets.

 But because a handful of municipalities still won’t follow the rules, Cathey came back this year with what he’s called “a bill with teeth.” If approved, police chiefs and municipal leaders who continue to ignore the requirements can be charged with malfeasance in office. The penalty for that crime can be up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Tallahassee's elementary schools are the most lucrative speed camera area's I've heard of... just 2 cameras racked up 315 thou in 2 months. It's not about safety. It's about money

Over the course of the year, 23 more cameras are expected to go up and join the cause. And based on last month's numbers, if all the cameras are up and running, Tallahassee could see around 40,000 tickets per month, which would bring in roughly $1.5 million for the city.

If drivers don't get the message to slow down, this means the city could be earning $18.6 million a year with every camera capturing around 1,590 school zone speeders each month.

The DC Department of Transportation added a speed camera on the 1400 Block of Bladensburg Road in March... THEN they lowered the speed limit in July. The number of tickets issued skyrocketed. It never was about safety, it was about 1.1 million dollars in fines

Suffolk County, New York, red light cameras are being deactivated, ending over a decade where the cameras resulted in the number of crashes with injuries dropped, but the total number of accidents rose over the program's 14 years.

Suffolk County's new Republican administration claims the red light cameras were never about safety, since most tickets were for turning right on red violations.

"It's about time that taxation through citation has ended," County Legislator Anthony Piccirillo said.

County data that caused the controversy to swell showed an 11.3% drop in accidents with injuries, but an overall increase in crashes by 8.6%.

Last week, a New York state appellate court ruled the sizeable administrative fees that Nassau and Suffolk counties have been charging with red light camera tickets are illegal.

Iowa's speed cameras have mostly found to be illegal, by the Iowa DOT

In Iowa, several cities recently had to shut off most of their fixed-location speed cameras due to the implementation of a new law by the state’s Department of Transportation

Out of the 139 fixed camera locations across the state, only 11 were approved to continue operating.

By requiring local governments to prove the necessity of speed cameras, Iowa has created a system where safety measures must meet a high standard of justification.

A small Italian town of 120 people, happens to be in the middle of racing on a small road from point A to B, and people race through all the time... nearly 60,000 in only 2 weeks. That's what a speed camera found, but it was only measuring stats, not issuing tickets

Above you see the main pedestrian crossing... which no one has simply figured out ought to be a bridge. No people walking across the road, no people get hit. It's that simple. But, since people must walk across the road, they must get highway traffic to slow the hell down.

On average someone sped through every 3 minutes, and if that's not enough to upset the residents, the worst offenders are zipping through nearly three times the posted limit because this highway, state highway SS28, has fewest speed bumps, speed radars and tolls.

Imagine how much money they could make with a couple cops stopping the speeders and fining them? Writing tickets is ok too, but people don't bother paying those unless they're local. Anyone else just avoids that place in the future

It's on the first road inside Italy that runs North from the coast, and that probably has a lot to do with the high amount of traffic on that road just passing through.

Speed cameras in Australia don't allow for the margin of error in speedmeters, tire inflation, or human error.. they just issue you a ticket.
