The Pantera 90 Si would have its styling significantly updated by Marcello Gandini, the man who designed the Miura, Countach, Stratos, and countless others. Only 40 were made.

 90 Si was a significant upgrade over the earlier cars, the 351 cubic inch (5.8 liter) Ford V8 was swapped out for the more advanced 305 bhp 5.0 liter (302 cubic inch) engine with electronic fuel injection, as well as uprated cylinder heads, intake manifolds, camshafts, valves, and pistons.

The suspension was completely revised, the chassis was moderately revised, and a set of four-wheel ventilated and drilled disc brakes were added, with the same Brembo calipers used on the Ferrari F40.

There were two Pantera's were part of Mopar project, one of which was fitted with a 340 "A" series engine complete with aluminum cylinder heads and a twin turbo set up with assistance from Gale Banks Engineering. 

Induction is a draw through system via a Holley Carb through to the two turbo chargers to a water cooled intercooler mounted onto the manifold. The intercooler water is fan cooled in what was the a/c condenser. Pending a decision on the future of the project, which was eventually shelved, the car was put into storage whilst the mountain of corporate paperwork was being filed, in the mean time Jim Hensen had spotted and acquired the car, some parts were removed and the car was shipped to England just prior to the order for it to be scrapped. The car was reassembled in a workshop in East Anglia, then moved with it's owner to New Zealand
