I'm pretty sure that's an XA or XB Falcon GT coupe, though the grill is a bit off. Have you not seen Mad Max with Mel Gibson? His coupe in that is an XB Landau which is based on the Falcon.
I have seen the Mad Max movies, all of them. The Mad Max car had a different nose, headlights encased in a flat glass cover, and the blower. Let me say again, THIS is a great looking design, why haven't I seen IT in tv shows or movies. You can see the difference, yes? I did not ask why the Mad Max car was going to be discussed by everyo0ne commenting. Nope. I asked about the car in the above photo.
I have to add, if you haven't seen many Aussie car movies. You have to watch Running on Empty (1982). I don't want to give any spoilers but you have to watch for the '57 Chevy coupe.
Hi Jesse, that's an Australian built and designed XB Ford Falcon coupe built between 1973 and 1976. You have seen one in a movie before, although it had a custom front end by Peter Arcadipane. The movie? "Mad Max".
Thanks Matt! I have seen the Mad Max movies, all of them. The Mad Max car had a different nose, headlights encased in a flat glass cover, and the blower. Let me say again, THIS is a great looking design, why haven't I seen IT in tv shows or movies. You can see the difference, yes? Dang, you know a lot about the Mad Max car! Compliments!

The one in the above photo, is not the Mad Max car, I've posted about it. If I asked about a early 1950s VW Bug with the split rear window, early tail lights, semaphore turn signals, would you tell me I've seen Herbie the Love Bug? No. I don't think so, you might say well, those early 1950s Bugs were not in movies, but should be. But I don't think you'd say, how about a 73 Super Beetle, or Herbie. Please, lets admire the car that was posted, not some race car version, or movie prop version. They look different. I like this one. I like those too, but I'm not talking about them now

Oh yeah! I forgot about that, as it was 11 years ago, https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2015/03/fuel-magazines-new-issue-looks-to-be.html and I loved it!
As people have said, it is an Aussie Falcon XB Coupe. There is a Falcon XA Coupe (same body but different front) in the movie Two Hands with Heath Ledger & Bryan Brown. Great Movie. Sorry - not the same car but similar.
A 1974 Ford Falcon (XB) features in a 1998 music video clip; Puretone - Addicted To Bass Flat black paintjob with a really big wing on the rear, hoodscoop up front and side pipes. The girls are very nice to look at as well

ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll try to find the Running on Empty movie, for the 57. But I still want to see THE ABOVE CAR in a tv show or movie
