not only do you share the road with them and their precarious decision making ability, but they also have guns, kids they'll teach to do things this way, and they vote
That trailer hitch is not funny. My dad got skewered by a boat trailer that came loose. A 26 foot piece of angle iron, 18 foot of it went through him and stuck him to the seat of his truck. They had to cut the seat and the angle iron and get him into the ambulance. They couldn't get him on the helicopter still attached to the seat. He lived, thank God, but was in the hospital for a few months.
I have zero on this post to indicate I find anything here funny. And holy shit, that is incredible that your dad survived! Wow.. the scar must be unreal!
This reminds me of a story a former boss told. He borrowed a wooden tow bar that had been used for towing a Lotus or MG and decided to use it to tow a Ford Aerostar van full of scrap metal to the junkyard. As you would guess, the tow bar broke and the van crashed into a Firebird in front of a used car dealership. He went inside to find out who owned the car, and everyone pointed to the kid who had just bought it. My boss talked the kid into letting him fix the car and repaint it in his driveway, so he wouldn't report it to the insurance company. My boss was an engineering manager and we never let him forget about it.
😵 Just scary.
