Electrical problems that often caused fires like this plagued one brand of well known heavy trucks about 15 years ago, and once the fire started it was almost impossible to contain. Sometimes those fires were the result of drivers or mechanics making changes to the speed limiter on the trucks or installing non-factory aftermarket electrical devices. The truck manufacturer eventually corrected the original problem, but driver or owner tampering with the complex electrical systems will probably always be a problem.
Man, that's what you call a melt down!
