Luke hit a pot hole that destroyed the front hub.
A part that you CANT buy new and is insanely rare to find used.
Kenny literally picked it up, welded it back together, machined it for new bearings and returned it to Luke on the road same day. Simply amazing
I stand and begin the slow clap, join in when you can!
Praise to Kenny - a craftsman!
ReplyDeleteFor a four door Maverick- I'm a bit flabbergasted. But full marks for Kenny saying "Yes, let's fix it." and not "Whattaya mean? Just toss it." He's a credit to his race (the race of 'doers' not 'buyers').
ReplyDeletethere was a famous 4 door drag raced extremely successfully under the name Juana Taxi - Gapp and Roush! 1975 https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2014/01/what-4-door-won-1975-spring-and-summer.html
DeleteBrake drums are availibe.
ReplyDeleteok, you now have to put up, or shut up. Them's the playground rules.... you contradict what's been said, you got to prove it. Reply in the comments where those Maverick drums are available, for Luke when driving through South Dakota, and breaking down in Rapid City
DeleteThe drums appear to be readily available, but none of the pictures I see include the hub. I don't know exactly how this thing was put together, but I don't think Kenny would have had to weld up and remachine the hub if all that broke was the drum. In any case, I suspect also that the presence of a part on an internet page does not mean it would be quick and cheap to find the right part and get it and get the car back on the road, so I join the applause for Kenny here, because I always like it when someone fixes something instead of just throwing it away, and the Maverick, which I suspect has a lot of back story, just got a little more.
