Summit won't allow colorful language in the reviews... I shit you not.

(through trial and try again, I learned that "damn" is the offensive word their software red flagged. Not EFFING, or Snafu, or Bullshit, those are allowed it seems)

What I wrote:

Do NOT list parts you do NOT stock, warehouse and supply. Recent world supply issues put a wrench in the works of the old mode of ultra efficient sales, where the manufacturer stores and sends the product, and companies like Summit simply middle man for a small profit, without ever touching the product. Time to make a split mode system, the stuff we have on hand, the stuff we have nothing to do with but connect buyer to supplier, who has no plan for on time delivery. I've now had 2 different items fall into "never gonna get it" time frame, speed brake bleeders, and rims. Summit will lose respectability for letting customers down, order after order, because you middle man for supplies with no CONUS warehouse supply. US Mags makes rims in China, with no effing clue when they can deliver, and Russell I think, had no damn speed bleeder brake parts after a couple months of being on order. US Mags had me waiting 3 months. It's bull. Come up with a plan, list things two different ways, far different than your current method, and get it clearly across that those suppliers are at the mercy of shipping pirates, or kraken or some such humourous notion, and they should not be relied on to deliver.
Also, it's effing simple for Summit to put up a notion on the order site, that THIS is nearly identical to the thing you're ordering, which there is no supply for, and THIS is in stock, consider it instead, because the only difference is the paint color. THAT would have saved me 2 months, as I finally get fed up and looked for a way to put my car on wheels, and discovered that there are plenty in grey, but none in black, on the damn planet. And US Mags has no effing clue how to stockpile a few for potential customers when the black sells out. And they sold out. And 3 damn months later, still none shipped from China.
Supplying from China is no longer a good idea. Store more on this continent, shipping isn't reliable, dock workers are on strike, truckers are SNAFU by California new smog regs every 6 months, there is ALWAYS going to be a Covid, or a factory in China burning down. Time to be responsible for our OWN success and customer service guys.
Love your long time being around, I've been a customer since the early 90s.
"Since 1968, Summit Racing Equipment has done business based on a simple formula: offer customers the parts they want, at a fair price, SHIP THOSE PARTS FAST, and back them with the best customer service in the world."
Time to focus on the fundamentals

  1. Well just Damn! Jesse. Just no more fun anywhere it seems. Probably not even owned by them anymode. Holley has bought up a ton of companies and now you can't even get in touch with the original company. No good for anybody best I can tell. Changing times in a downward way!
