A fun fact about plastic concrete: Some drivers will carry a 5lb bag of sugar with them in the truck. If the truck breaks down, or whatever, and it looks like load is trying to get its initial set, they'll pour the sugar in the drum with the fresh concrete. The sugar will stop the hydration of the cement and the load will never set, thus preventing the need to hammer out cured concrete.
