not many cars can survive decades of daily use, and avoid rust, bad roads, drivers that are driving distracted, storms, and critters that suddenly decide to dash across the road at the instant you're going to collide with them - AND look this good
Ford seriously got it right on the first gen Mustang, good for commuting and sports car racing.
I met a great guy in the Navy, bac in 1995 that was given a 66 or 67 fastback Stang by his aunt that wanted it to stay with the cool kid that kept it clean and maintained with anything it took to be the pride and envy around their town.
It had a 2 barrel 289, and he drove it every day, but never upgraded the intake and exhaust. It went to his daughter for high school and college, then started having simple carb issues, and she sold it and got a honda, with AC and blutooth. Darn shame, but then, I've been a nut for my old car, and sacrificed to keep it in a rented garage, even though I can only afford to drive it maybe once a year or so, and am very very slowly improving it, bit by bit maybe once a year. But hell, I have the ambition to make it a bit more renewed than it's been since the 70s when so many things just wore out and were never replaced, like the shocks, ball joints, idler and pitman arm, tie rods, etc. Mine is still a work in slow progress as I can afford it... but at least its paid for, insured and garaged until then
I think any car built in North America in the Sixties is better looking than what we have to buy today. And it's just going to get worse. That's in the "looks" department. If the big 3 domestics would put modern running gear in some of their 60's era cars I would be first in line to have one.
