I wonder about some people's grasp of reality, lack of understanding of the basics, and this guy doesn't disappoint. He filled the open truck bed with gas... not containers. Then, he forgot how much liquid can slosh out of an open truck bed when cornering

Speaking of gas, I read today the highest priced gas in the country is in Mendocino, at 6.73 a gallon,  that's about 80 miles north of San Fran, on the coast, and remote. So, price gouging due to being the only gas station for miles around?  Not exactly, the cost of being a gas station, not a convienence store and gas station, means the only thing sold is gas, and there's nothing else to carry the cost of doing business.

It's been a gas station for about 100 years, and the current owner has been working there since 1968, and at age 70, would NOT mind is someone else took it over. https://www.sfgate.com/travel/article/Northern-Calfornia-Mendocino-most-expensive-gas-16220638.php

  1. Stupid is as stupid does. There really is no cure for it. Only a Darwin award.

  3. ... I'm speechless,I saw that vid some time ago and it's still make me speechless. The concentration of stupidity exceeds all norms, even against the few situations you have already shown, this one completely outclasses each of them by light years. How much this insanity even cost!?

  4. Benzene, a sub chapter O, highly flammable C grade hazardous chemical present in gasoline, is a known carcinogen and highly susceptible to static electrical discharges.

Raffinate, another product present in gasoline, also a C-grade hazardous chemical attacks the female reproductive system and can cause mutagenic effects to an unborn fetus with less than 8 parts per million exposure.

Pretty sure he committed at least one felony and a whole slew of misdemeanors and\or infractions.

Good luck dude, you are going to need it along with a kick ass attorney.

  5. I watched the video.
Why on earth did the fuel station let him do that? Were they happy for their business to go up in flames?
The plastic sheet only went half way up the side; he left a pool of fuel on the ground before he even set off.
He must have lost at least a third of his purchase during the video, never mind the rest of his journey. What did he really pay per gallon?
    I bet he smokes.

  6. Jess, I think this might take the prizes for both the utterly stupidest and most dangerous behaviour you've ever posted.
I'm actually quite surprised he didn't earn a Darwin award (maybe that was after the video).

  7. I just read the comments on Reddit. Plenty of suggestions that it's fake and the bed is really filled with water. Looked again and I have to admit they're probably right.
    Won't get fooled again (maybe).

    1. The video only shows him putting a splash of gasoline into the truck bed. If the truck really was full of gas, the people following closely behind and recording were about as dumb as the driver.

  8. Question. Why didn't the gas station attendees turn off the pump? This is clearly illegal. Not only is the guy pumping the gas stupid, but so to the attendant. Darwin Award for both of them.

    1. I guess it's that he seems to be out of eyesight of the station attendant, as he's got the handle within a foot or so of the trucks tank access panel, and he also chose to use the pump farthest away from the station office. So, he might simply have chosen to make it as discreet as possible from the station attendant
