Your video of the week, get this set up for high def first, and turn up the volume, then feel free to freak out.

the 155 kph on his speedometer is equal to 96 mph.

In a head on collision with someone going the opposite direction, at the same speed (or more) the impact would feel like hitting a wall at 200 mph.

At least, that's the way I remember being told about the impact of a head on.

So, though there is a slow mo repeat section right after the shocking moment, skip ahead to the 52 seconds, and then this guy heads back to see if he can catch up to the yoyos that were in his lane... spoiler, one of them crashed

  1. Pretty sure you were told wrong, that would be creating energy.

Two equal weight vehicles hitting head on at the same speed would stop in the same distance as if one had hit an unmovable wall.

Recollection from my physics class is if one was going 50mph and the other was going 100mph it would be like hitting a wall at 75mph for both of them.

  2. Two vehicles of the same mass, traveling at the same speed, colliding head-on for example at 60mph is like one of those vehicles hitting a wall at 60mph.

  3. I was always told terminal velocity is the of the two objects traveling at speed times two. So if the opposing vehicles are traveling at 65 MPH and met head on, the terminal velocity is 130 MPH. That's what I was told. I'm not saying I'm right.

As for these yahoos. Stupid is as stupid does. Keep it on the track boys and girls.
