Well, I'll be darned, I hadn't ever thought of the speed... but, isn't F50 just as fast in color as ISO 500 is in black and white? Damned if I know, I just put the camera on auto, trust that the engineers at Nikon know their shit, and push the button
My guess... DIY development in your basement darkroom vs commercial (ie color.)
ReplyDeleteProbably B&W because it was faster so you could grab action without super expensive gear. If you're at the track you want to be ready for action.
