Jesse, they have a Convair at the Lakeland Linder Air Museum where Carlysle holds their fall and winter Autofests. I saw it just a month ago. The idea was to be able to land it upright in a small space, hence the casters on the back. They told us when I toured there years ago there was only one pilot able to do it and several were killed trying. It's officially called "US Navy1953 Convair F2Y Sea Dart.

ReplyDeletethis aircraft is a Convair XFY-1 Pogo... the Sea Dart was a jet, not a prop.
