27 people were arrested in connection with a scheme to put the forged signatures of California Highway Patrol officers on more than 250 fix-it tickets from streetracing and sideshows

Investigators became aware of the scheme when a court official flagged them about the authorized stamp of a retired officer showing up on tickets, from there police found an Instagram page, where Angel Sanchez-Peralta not only promoted street-racing and sideshow events, police said, but also promoted the illegal sign-off services.

He charged 300 per ticket to fix the tickets with a stamp stolen from a retired cop. The news wasn't going into details on that.

The drivers, who were cited by CHP and other local law enforcement agencies because their vehicles were illegally modified, would then take the stamped-off tickets to the courthouse and pay the court fee to resolve the ticket.

In some cases, the cost to fix the modifications to their cars would have cost thousands of dollars.
