James May, happened to be fired from Autocar magazine for embedding a message in the leading letters of the articles

SO YOU THINK ITS REALLY GOOD YEAH YOU SHOULD TRY MAKING THE BLOODY THING UP ITS A REAL PAIN IN THE ARSE

Autocar’s editors overlooked the acrostic entirely — they learned about it only when readers called in seeking a prize

  1. Love it, and love even more the fact that some readers were clever enough to notice.

In WW2 a Danish letter being circulated, seemingly praising the Nazis - until you read every other line only.

Another good one was a poem praising Chile's dictator Pinochet and his henchmen, back in the 1970s. It was printed on the front page of a major newspaper, whose proofreaders never thought of reading every sentence's first letter in the vertical plane. Turned out the poet was less than impressed with the government. Can't recall the exact message, but it went along the lines of "Fascist, liars and bloody murderers".
