Uh oh... Ford fans are looking to start a fight with this infographic, it's complete bullshit

https://www.facebook.com/groups/321577158048111/

Jay brings up a very good point, this info is bullshit... and obviously made by a Ford fan. Notice, there is no Chevy.

Also, the Superbird was not made in 1969, therefore, it had half the number of years to race as the Ford. So why was it included in this... probably to make the Ford look better.

Also, the Ford was raced at EVERY track, the Mopars only at a handful. So why compare them at all? To make Ford look better.

Obviously the only real honest comparison would be for each race where all three competed

Good call Jay. I wasn't even thinking when I saw this about all the matters you brought up...

  1. Ford, Mopar, they're both losers compared to Chevy. Sounds like the words of a biased Chevy man, right? No! Just look up NASCAR victories. While it is true that Ford and Mopar dominated NASCAR during the 1960's, you have to remember, that was the era of factory support by both of those companies. Take note that almost immediately after factory backing by Ford and Mopar fell off during the early '70's, Chevy started to be the clear overall winner, and that hasn't changed since. Also, Chevy has dominated almost every form of American auto sports during every period of time except NAACAR during the '60's. Chevy leads by far in short track racing, drag racing (except top fuel and funny cars), gas powered truck pulling, mud bogging, inboard boat racing, etc.

  2. This comparison is completely ridiculous!!! So, let's straighten this out before it accidentally makes someone sound like an idiot for stating those stats.

1: The 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird was ONLY raced in 1970. Sure it was FAST....but it was no time capsule capable of going back in time and pick up a few more super-speedway wins during the 1969 season. So, why include it in a comparison that includes seasons prior to it's existence?

2: Both of the "Winged Cars" were ONLY raced at a handful of Tracks during the 1969 & 1970 NASCAR Grand National seasons. The Ford teams raced the Talladega at EVERY track during the 1969 & 1970 seasons. So, why have a comparison that includes races where the Dodge Charger Daytona & the 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird didn't even compete?

3: Neil Schnurr, this already screwed-up comparison is ONLY referring to 2 seasons, so there's no reason to bring up the GM-brand "Chevrolet". Any Chevy fan during these 2 season was rooting for the track to have a Chevy pace car, as that was the ONLY way they were going to lead a single lap. Honestly....Chevrolet could not "hang" with the big boys when it came to making the cars cruise at 200 mph speeds for 400-500 miles.

4: The ONLY fair way to compare these (3) mentioned cars would be at events where they ALL THREE competed! So, that would ONLY be the "big tracks" during the 1970 season. Fair enough?

    1. Well, I was really knocked out... what the hell was I doing posting this Ford propaganda? Only answer I can think of, I was looking at the pretty pictures and not reading (yup, car porn) and this got past my limited attention span. Thanks for taking the time to set this nonsense straight... I revised a lot about the post, take another look.. and you might be much more satisfied
