there is a very close replica of the original Le Monstre in England, on the race tracks! David photographed it at the Silverstone GP circuit, – they say that the roll hoop is slightly thicker and higher, and the seats and harnesses are a little more substantial. Apparently it does have the period-correct 331ci Cadillac engine with five carburetors.

Thank you David!

the blue "west hall" is new, and where the SEMA Ignite had recently been held, and a couple years ago, the rally races, before they moved to the south end of the strip across from the pyramid

it used to have a small building on the corner, with an escalator that took convention goers to an overpass, and that was removed

and they finally got the walkway over Paradise Rd right, it looked like amateurs built the old one, with a hatred for good looking design

a resident of Norway was returning from Germany after picking up his brand new Huracan. He paid approximately $240,000 for the car and was on his way to catch the ferry to Norway when he was pulled over for 147 mph

His ignorance of Danish laws in Denmark, where the law separates regular speeding from reckless driving at 124 mph, allows police to seize and auction off any roadworthy vehicle used for reckless driving.

The Huracan was clocked at 147 mph, instantly seized, and will be auctioned off

nice scissor lift! Thanks RLK!

The scene is at the only Miller Brewing plant in the nation at the time, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The two guys are icing up a reefer, no doubt to keep a cross country shipment of beer from spoiling. (Appears to be summer, as at least one guy is in short sleeves and the building windows are open. Notice the empty beer cases stacked inside.) The truck is a 1937 International. Although the scissors apparatus served this icing function well, it’s primary function was to facilitate residential coal delivery. Most houses at the time had a coal bin in the basement, accessible by a window to the outside. If the truck could get close enough, the deliveryman would attach a steel chute from the hopper to the window, trip a trap door in the hopper and let the product flow by gravity. If the truck could not be so arranged, the hopper would be raised and the coal dumped into canvas baskets. Those baskets would then be carried on the delivery guys shoulder and dumped into the basement...one at a time.

recently Audi made a legacy video, now Honda has too, well done!

Honda says that it features over 100 of its historic products in its 60-second ad spot. Specifically, it calls out the first motorcycle ever built by Soichiro Honda, the 1949 Honda Dream, its first passenger car, the S600, and even the first-generation of its iconic Civic.

some Ferrari owner learned how bad they were at driving, and flipped their Ferrari on the Tail of The Dragon

The car in question appears to be a Ferrari 488 Pista, which may have been taking part in the Epic Adventures Blue Ridge 2021 rally. Images of the aftermath of the crash show a Porsche 918 Spider in the vicinity bearing windscreen banners advertising the event

the incident occurred just after a hump in the road commonly referred to as Gravity Cavity MM3, named for the nearby mile marker. Speaking to The Drive, the local indicated it appeared as though the Ferrari hit the bump at too high a speed heading southbound, at which point the driver lost control. This resulted in the car heading into the northbound lane, hitting the wall and ending up on its roof.

Texaco came up with this idea decades before Red Bull's ad agency did

 thanks Kim!

The Lumbermens Ins Co was quite dramatic to get their point across

here's a simple easy way to get the hot air out of your car when it's been baking in the sun, but you've got somewhere to and would like it to cool down inside as fast as possible, pump the pair out with a door!

of course, getting a reflective car cover will prevent it from baking, I assure you, I've used one for years. http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2018/09/i-am-very-very-happy-with-this-heat.html

Shaq is riding in the back of a very odd art Cadillac, as the caretaker for the race trophy, as he parades through last weekend's big Formula 1 race at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.

Just last year, rental-car giant Hertz was filing bankruptcy, selling massive amounts of inventory just to stay afloat. It has managed to make a comeback however, and recently placed an order for 100,000 Teslas.

Hertz is also building its own charging infrastructure as well as utilizing Tesla’s network of superchargers for customers.

Hertz Global Holdings Inc., barely four months out of bankruptcy, placed an order for 100,000 Teslas in the first step of an ambitious plan to electrify its rental-car fleet. Tesla Inc.’s shares soared, pushing the automaker’s value past $1 trillion for the first time.

It’s the single-largest purchase ever for electric vehicles, or EVs, and represents about $4.2 billion of revenue for Tesla, according to people familiar with the matter who declined to be identified because the information is private.

Tesla shares rose as much as 9.8%, the most intraday since March 9, to a record $998.74, making it one of only five publicly traded U.S. companies with valuations above $1 trillion. Hertz, which currently trades over the counter ahead of its relisting on the Nasdaq Stock Market, surged as much as 14% to $28.25.

On July 9, heavy rains caused extensive cracking of the asphalt, which collapsed due to the softening. However, four days later, it was reopened after repairs. Oct 1st, this collapse happened, killing one. This overpass was only built 12 years ago
