Tank transporter АТ-1 and tankette TKS (Poland 1932-36)
Shas says the info from the source is wrong, and here is the correct info:
The AT-1 name do not appear in any source material about this transport system. It was called just "autotransporter" and this one is model manufactured by URSUS plant. Also date is wrong, this type of camouflage, common know as "Japanese camouflage" was used in 1932 to 1936. Not to mention the TKS tankette was design from 1933 and enter production in 1934. So it can't be from 1931

1 of 1 Plum Crazy Hemi Coronet, 4 spd, Super Track Pack, in Canada finally recovered and restored, and of course, now up for sale on Ebay. Currently bid to 90k, 2 days left, it's going to be a no sale never getting close to reserve
Among a mere 14 hemi Coronets constructed that year, this former salvage yard denizen was found
behind the garage of a salvage dealer’s parents’ house in late 1991 in Manitoba, Canada when it was still a basket case project, it's the only example built for Canadian export
One last sold for 156k in 2016, and the owner of this is hoping to win the lotto, because the car was recently for sale at the Mopar Nationals with a price tag of around $230,000 USD.
only 14 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T Hemi came out of the factory that year and only 4 were 4-speed.
Sure its not the most glamorous of Mopar Muscle Cars but its one of the rarest examples from their camp, coming in at number 15 on the Rarest Muscle Car list. It even has front disc brakes

Victor Bouffort was a supply driver during WW2, and smuggled jewish children to Switzerland in his truck, after WW2 he invented scooters, sports cars, tanks, and other vehicles
pardon the irrelevant photo, but there simply aren't a lot of photos of this man, and this one shows his own try at a sports car, with only 3 wheels due to their high cost. Lack of funds prevented his success with it.
During the German occupation of France, Victor Bouffort’s task was to bring supplies to Swiss residents living in France.
With every journey he made, he risked his life: he would hide Jewish children in his lorry and then take them to Switzerland, saving them from being deported to concentration camps.
In his life after WW2, he went on to design many vehicles both civilian and military, but I'm just focusing on this one heroic humanitarian effort by a car guy.

Subaru built a 4 door monster, with 300 ADDED hp, and took the ring in 6:57:578
Subaru was able to accomplish this feat by building the WRX STI Type RA NBR Special, a time attack monster set up for the grueling 12.8-mile circuit. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged Boxer engine is up on power—300 extra horsepower to be exact—thanks to a fully built motor from Prodrive and a turbo that runs a staggering 25 psi of boost.
The motor is also able to rev to a preposterous 8,500 rpm redline. The purpose-built race car features a WRX gearbox, heavily redesigned aerodynamics including a rear wing with a drag reduction system, and a full roll cage for added strength and stiffness.

It’s about to become a whole lot easier to own a classic car in the U.K., their Department of Transport decided that cars made before 1977 do not need to pass the annual inspection and road-worthiness test known as the “”MOT.”
Previously, the only cars that were MOT exempt were vehicles registered before 1960.
Under the new regulation, beginning next May. all cars made in 1978 and before, will be free from the MOT’s inspection and tax. This 40-year requirement is a rolling law, so, every year in the future the year of exemption will also advance one year

Chevrolet of Montebello California has a bit of a publicity problem... one of the mechanics took a customers 2010 Indy 500 limited edition pace car Camaro for a joy ride to a burger joint
Mari Agredano-Quirino and her husband dropped off their Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Edition Camaro at the dealership and saw it speeding up and down the streets of Montebello and Pico Rivera later that same day.
After the couple was able to catch up to their vehicle, they confronted the employee at the restaurant's drive-thru and recorder the verbal lashing she gave Mario, the dumbass mechanic that was using her car for a burger run.

the Hendrick's Gin - Grand Garnisher
In celebration of World Cucumber Day, Hendrick’s Gin (which is itself infused with cucumber) has announced the launch of a brand new cucumber slicer!
The Grand Garnisher is an unusually prodigious semi-automated machine capable of slicing cucumbers while cruising at road speeds of up to 25 mph! How does this work, you ask? Thanks to a hybrid combination of a large diesel motor and a well-dressed gentleman pedaling a large-wheeled bicycle!
The Grand Garnisher commenced its maiden voyage from New York City on June 14th (World Cucumber Day), striking out on a meandering path westward across the continent, seeking to delight onlookers, cocktail-lovers and cucumber aficionados alike.

the started taking out the 104 year old Ballville Dam in Fremont / Sandusky Ohio, and when the water level lowered, found a truck in the water 1/2 mile upstream that was last registered in 1996 (thanks Marc!)
Divers searched the vehicle, but found nothing inside, according to Sandusky County Sheriff Chris Hilton.
Hilton said they could not learn much about the vehicle because its Ohio license plate, from 1996, was too old to search on their database.
He said they are investigating how the vehicle got there, but it could have been there for at least 21 years.

Remember the tv show Riptide? It's liveaboard yacht is still in great shape in Gig Harbor Washington
I remember the Sikorsky S-58 chopper, The Screaming Mimi best, and the 1960 Vette
That chopper is the same model as the one I photographed http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2013/12/engine-58-sikorsky-58t-now-rented-for.html
a purposefully "low-tech" slap at Airwolf and Blue Thunder. It was supposed to be a cheap Army surplus unit... marginally airworthy and usually backfiring

loaded it like a rail car, drove it like a stockcar
On Thursday, September 7, 2017 at about 9:30 am, the Pepin County Sheriff's Office had report of a disabled semi unit on USH 10 near the Pepin/Pierce County Line west of Durand.
The semi unit had left St. Paul, Minnesota at approximately 7 pm on September 6th destined to deliver its load to a location in Neenah, WI.
At about 8 pm two tires blew out on the semi-trailer where it became disabled.
The driver contacted a tire repair service to respond to the scene to replace the tires. The repair service was not able to lift the trailer in order to change the tires due to its weight. The following morning a second repair service attempted to change the tires. That service contacted a heavy tow truck operator to lift the rear of the trailer to allow the tire changes. The tow operator contacted the Pepin County Sheriff's Office to advise them of the obvious overweight issue. Pepin County Deputies then requested a State Patrol unit to assist. Sergeant Wm. Berger responded to the scene to assist.
The initial tow truck was not able to lift the rear of the trailer so a second, larger 50 ton rotator tow truck responded and was able to lift the rear of the trailer to change the tires. Due to the extreme flexing of the frame and the potential for a catastrophic failure of the trailer frame system extra blocking and jacks had to be used to support the center the trailer while it was being lifted.
The unit was eventually weighed on a set of the Wisconsin State Patrol’s portable scales. The unit had a gross weight of 165, 900 lbs. The legal gross weight of the unit was 80,000 lbs.
All of the tires on the semi-tractor and trailer, with the exception of the steering tires, were significantly exceeding the tire manufacturer’s maximum tire weight rating. Some of the tires were carrying more than double the allowable weight allowed by the tire manufacturer’s rating.
The driver was issued a citation for failure to place the required emergency warning devices for a stopped vehicle in the area around the disable semi unit. The unit was partially in a traffic lane for over 10 hours without anyone contacting law enforcement or placing the safety devices. The company was issued a citation for an 85,900 lb. axle group overload. The bond amount for the overweight citation was $20,287.86.
A second citation was issued to the carrier for exceeding the tire weight ratings. Nine other axle weight warnings were issued along with 12 out of service violations for exceeding the tire weight rating limitations. A final warning was issued to the driver under the Federal Safety Regulations for Reckless Driving. The unit was escorted approximately 4 miles where it could be safely offloaded.

Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II
Michael Callahan from Cincinnati, Ohio, always dreamed about going to Bonneville with a street car and getting into the 150MPH Club.
After he retired from the printing business the search for a 150mph street car commenced. He wasn’t after any specific car, with his parameters being for something he could easily modify aerodynamically, and performance-wise too. In 2015 he found the car he thought would work for sale in California, this 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II. It hit him that this would be the perfect type of production car to make an attempt for his dream.
Rumors over the years have speculated that actually only 351 Cyclone Spoiler IIs were built, and that Mercury assembled “503” Spoiler IIs as verification for NASCAR, with the cars further back of the assemblage actually being standard Wimbleton White Cyclones. Supposedly NASCAR didn’t notice the difference when doing a quick count.
Michael’s changes to meet SCTA specs to race the course included a 4-point roll bar, driveshaft loop, V-rated tires, 5-point harness and seat brace, and a handful of other additions. When he put it on a chassis dyno a few other changes were deemed necessary to surpass 150mph at Bonneville. Beehive valve springs with titanium retainers were added, an Edelbrock air-gap intake replaced the single plane manifold, 16-inch rear wheels were added to gain speed, an aluminum driveshaft replaced the clunky original, and many minor changes were made to the Holley. But keep in mind that this car runs a mechanical fuel pump, stock pistons, rods and bottom end. With those changes the Merc ran 168mph simulated on the chassis dyno at 5900rpm.
Michael drove the Spoiler 1800 miles to Bonneville. Getting there for Tech Day, he passed tech and the next day ran 154mph on his first pass, with a backup pass of 153mph, making it into the 150MPH Club no problem. This was done with windshield wipers and side mirrors, the tune he drove it to Bonneville with, and a mix of 91 octane gas the car had for the trip to Utah, and some 100 octane gas he picked up on the course.

“I was detailing underneath, and when I reached over, the watch band I was wearing shorted out on the starter,” The starter began driving the six-speed Chevelle off the jackstands
"And the car started surging on top of me, like it was still trying to start. By the grace of God, I was able to pull the wiring from the starter and it stopped—then I realized I can’t breathe with this crushing weight on me, and I’m sayin’ my prayers.” By a righteous miracle, Dennis was able to escape from under the Chevelle and walk into his house to grab his old man for help before blacking out.
Dennis was in a coma for two weeks while doctors worked to piece him back together. About half of his face is titanium now, and he’s undergone a wealth of reconstructive surgery; all in all, medical science has done a good job of restoring him.
