The editor of Classic Chevy runs this truck in SCCA in Southern California,
because the truck is used for the magazine articles and "how to's" some things get done and some have to wait for another time, like the wheel well covers
if it looks familiar, it was at the Tustin event in February, the American Street Car Challenge http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2013/02/sports-car-racing-not-just-for-sports.html
Best steampunk book I've seen for kids, friends, your boss, and steam punk / inventors geek love .. Thaddeus the Boss, by Heather Theurer
http://www.heathertheurer.com/index.php
that is the first couple pages after you open it, so you can see how it begins
the story line is that Thadeus (the kid) wants to be a "boss" like his dad, and this tells how he tries and learns how difficult it is to be a boss, and what the things a boss has to do for the people he is a boss of.
one of the great things about Heather's art and design is the TERRIFIC details and inventions she displays throughout the book, like the pacifier with a dB meter
Every day the dad goes to work in a new way, but a Motor Wheel? How Cool!
the above reminds me of the big car in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen... notice the engine horsepower call out on the exhaust?
Steampunk baby buggy!
this is so cool, Heather wrote up a great amount of things that you can get your kids to think about or discuss, even go back through the book and look for

new bureaucratic problem at the Florida DMV... suspending your license because you change your last name
thttp://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2013/01/florida-accuses-man-of-fraud-for-taking-wifes-name-then-backs-off/
someone has his license "Properly" suspended by the Florida DMV, who screwed up... and had to reinstate the drivers license.
Bureaucrats. Sheesh.

it took 31 days for Joy Rainey to drive from the Pacific to the Atlantic (Los Angeles to Daytona Beach) in a 1904 Curved Dash Oldsmobile
http://joy-across-america.com/journey-blog/ for her story in her own words

just curious, was a car insurance bill bigger or smaller relative to the car payment 10, 20, and 30 years ago?
I think (therefore I am) that it should be lower due top all the stuff insurance companies claim to have accomplished to lower car losses, lower theft rates, better car design and security, etc etc.
But have car insurance companies actually gotten to charge us car drivers more relative to the car payment?
Yes, some times I think about stuff like this, and I have no answers, and no time to research it.
Oh, all you guest post wanna be writers? Try that for a topic.

what you haven't heard about car insurance in California... thanks to Prop 103, it's cheaper now than in 1989, and Insurance companies keep trying to screw us in court to remove our protection laws from them over profitting
http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/blog/big-win-and-winners for Prop 103 (just on NBC ch 7 San Diego) and lookout when insurance companies get to play with the new healthcare rules, we're doomed regarding costs

Most memorable car advertising
the VW commercial with the Darth Vader kid
the Mayhem commercials from Allstate
the "That thing got a Hemi?"
the old but classic "Corinthian Leather"
and built Ford Tough
