In the later years of Miami Vice, the White Ferrari Testarossa had a stunt double for the high speed driving and chase scenes, a Detomaso Pantera...the TR was a pig. They were going to switch to Porsche Turbos free from Porsche until Ferrari offered up 5 TR's for free, one for Michael Mann, one for Don Johnson and one for Tubbs, plus two hero cars for the show.

Greystone Mansion (of Beverly Hills) Concours de Elegance is 2 weeks away, if you're considering coming in from out of town, here is new info about hotel packages
The May 5 Concours is a Destination Event, as the Greystone Mansion is one of only a few nationally registered historic landmarks in Southern California and on May 5 the entire Mansion will be open to attendees of the 2013 Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance
The event is an annual fundraiser for the ongoing restoration and preservation of Greystone. This year’s event will honor the 60th anniversary of the Corvette and the 40th anniversary of the 1973 Porsche 911 RS as well as present classes featuring 135 pre-war European and American classics plus a full field of motorcycles.
The Greystone Concours d’Elegance is produced by the City of Beverly Hills with the support of Friends of Greystone.
Greystone Mansion has been featured in dozens of motion picture and television productions, including The Big Lebowski, Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise, Eraserhead and There Will Be Blood. The latter’s grisly penultimate scene was filmed in the rarely open-to-public Greystone bowling alley.

a shipmate of mine from our time on the USS Olympia SSN717 has recovered enough from a truck nearly killing him to post some photos. People, open your damn eyes, use your damn brakes.
the moron driving the above SUV was driving at 70 miles per hour.
They did not see Pat, he was riding the bike below. They did not hit their brakes.
they went on to roll their SUV 3 times. No idea why they didn't see Pat, no word on how they made such an egregious error of driving, or how much they were hurt from rolling their SUV 3 times
Pat needed a lot of surgeries, blood, luck and skilled doctors to recover from the incredible pummeling and amputation of a leg. It's your ass on the line out there on a bike, theres no cage to keep you safe, not a single airbag.
So could you readers do a simple 2nd look for bikers tomorrow when you drive? It's going to save at least one life

some things that caught my eye at the Knotts Berry Farm annual all Ford show
the above Mustang has captured a lot of celebrity attention at car shows... I don't know why. It's been hit and restored, and in a music video... but nothing about the car caught my attention except the billboard
at the entrance across the street from Sears, this ugly 75 or 76 greeted you with it's ass. What a revolting developement as Bugs bunny used to say
on the subject of ugly, this Thunderbird speedometer is so ugly.... so cheap looking, and in such contrast to the cool pod gauges.. damn shame
