I'm fully aware of who built what, when, and why. I've researched and posted all about it... there are 65000 posts here over the last 20 years.... I've covered everything. And like you said, Bantam designed, Ford got the contract, and we know why, they could mass produce them. But, don't try and make this seem like I'm full of shit. The Bronco concept is ripping off the Jeep design. NOT using a Ford design of the Jeep. Bantam designed it. Ford hasn't used the door delete since the 60s Broncs. Repudiating what I write, when I AM right, pisses me off. This is MY website. Unless I am wrong, I got the prerogative to take no shit from anyone on MY SITE, when I"M RIGHT. Maybe I'm cranky from not getting sleep, or stress, or general unhappiness of how my day went. But dude.... it's my site, to say what I want, as long as I'm not misleading anyone. to get "Everybody copies everybody." is to give up on truth, to be some sheep who goes where it's lead. I'm on point, breaking trail. Facts matter, opinions and critique, matter. Calling Ford on some copy cat bullshit matters. It shows I am paying attention, keeping eyes open, not falling for any bullshit. When I'm wrong,. I cop to it, just as hard as when I'm defending my stand on this, or something else. To me, that's integrity.
Jesse, I never contradicted anything you said, and certainly didn't mean to insult you. I think (you may disagree) at this point in time the door delete is a Bronco heritage thing, and kind of cool really. I wish they could have gone with the fold-down windshield that came with the package, but I guess that's impossible in this day and age.
Another odd thing is Ford uses Goodyear Wrangler tires, but made Goodyear manufacture the tires without the word "wrangler" on them. If you could get the new Bronco with a V-8 and 5 speed, that would be super, but another weird thing is making two totally separate vehicles using the same name, the Bronco and the Bronco Sport. just dilutes the brand name recognition. and is confusing. Half the people probably dont even know they are two totally different vehicles.
thats as bad as Chevy making the Volt and the Bolt.
I use the door inserts on my bronco in the summer when I take the top and doors off.
" two totally separate vehicles using the same name, the Bronco and the Bronco Sport " and the same goes for the stupid Mustang and Mustang Electric SUV
"Door delete surrounds" like that were available on 1966 through 1968. Broncos.
ReplyDeletewho did that before 1966... Jeep. Your turn
DeleteFord built nearly half of world war II Jeeps. Both Ford and Willys Jeeps were ccpies of a design by American Bantam. Everybody copies everybody.
