I hadn't heard of, or seen, this movie about Ferruccio Lamborghini. Rotten Tomatoes seems to hate it... 6% was the sum total of reviews, Elana say's it's a mess too

Enzo was gifted a Mini by Sir Alec Issigonis (designer of the mini) and he is said to have like the Mini in winter driving specifically. (thanks Steve!)

Alec Issigonis is famously known as the genius behind the Mini. Its compact dimensions, front-drive layout and cute face made it a hit among buyers in the low-cost segment. It also struck a chord with Mr. Ferrari, and he and Alec became mutual admirers. Enzo drove a Mini Cooper with some custom lights that was apparently a gift from Issigonis himself. He especially preferred it in the winter for its superior front-drive traction.

Motorsports governing body introduced new sports car rules for 1968; Group 6 Prototypes with a maximum of 3 litres. In effect the CSI were making obsolete the ‘unlimited cars’ the 7 litre ‘pushrod’ Ford MkIV being built by Ford and the 4 litre ‘racing engine’ Ferrari P4Ferrari, which they considered too fast for the race tracks of the time.

Ferrari, in time honored fashion didn’t race in 1968 in protest at this sudden rule change but returned in 1969 with the Group 6 312P

Enzo was either endorsing Champion, or had worked out a deal for racing... whichever it was, I doubt he helped many other companies with their advertising.

Bernard Cahier was the go-to guy who knew everybody on the scene and behind it. People with cameras might be clicking away, and Bernard would maneuver to join not the photographers but the group being photographed.

Over time, I noticed other instances and decided Bernard was the most photographed photographer in racing.

He was also the guy who became famous for handing Stirling Moss a coke, on a hairpin turn

Stirling Moss takes a Coke at the Hairpin Turn at Sebring in 1957. Moss had seen some of the photographers at the Hairpin the lap before drinking Cokes so he gave them the classic thirsty sign (pretending to bring a bottle to his lips) as he drove by.

Cahier grabbed a Coke bottle, opened it, and waited for Moss to come around again. As he did, Cahier handed the bottle to Moss. He drank it during the lap, then promptly deposited it in the grass at the hairpin on the next lap and gave them a wave as thanks.  Image by Smith Peter Kerr.
