I like the basic idea, but it looks from that video as if the device is not resting under the forward jack point. Maybe it's just a video thing but it looks as if the rocker panel is actually a little bent above it, and the jack point is forward. Maybe also a bit of taste involved here, but I was always inclined to put the jack stands under some part other than that used for the jack, preferably where they won't slip, and won't share the same footing as the jack.
That said, I like the idea and could see making something similar that would straddle the existing jack points. Oh, and speaking as someone with visual problems especially up close it looks like pretty decent welding.
