Southwest Airlines flight 2094 left Nashville for South Florida when it had to divert because a passenger had set a timer on his phone so that he could pray for Ramadan. No one tells Muslims to dial it down on airlines in the USA?
Should have kicked his ass out and let him flap his arms and fly away! As I recall in Lonesome Dove that is what Blue Duck tried. That did not go well for him.
Killing somebody for having his phone timer tell him when it was time to pray? I've seen passengers stand up, one of strap them a small black cube to his forearm and then start rocking back and forth while saying their prayers. Din't occur to me for a moment they ought to be killed for that.
If anyone on a plane I'm in, flying at 40k feet above the planet, hears a timer go off, straps a thing to their arm, and start praying to Allah? That nutter is getting tackled, and put into a submission hold while I scan for accomplices. Anyone thinking muslims are welcome to get religious on an airliner, AFTER 9-11, if okey dokey? Needs to re-assess the situation of just who did what with an airliner, and how many people died for the Muslim religion, and how many went to war, and how many didn't come back, and how many came back missing eyes, arms, and legs. Muslims can fly Emirates Airline and do all the wacky Muslim stuff on that luxury airline, but on American Airlines, Southwest, and Freedom? They can shut up, sit down, and wait til they depart the airport before getting religified and sharing their gods views on us INFIDELS. THEY have a damn FATWA on us infidels, and I ain't got no religious holy order to kill them, they got one in writing, in their high holy book, to kill me. So, double check the score on who's used a couple airliners to kill New Yorkers, then get back to me on what that scoreboard looks like, and how welcome the religious incantations of KILL THE INFIDELS is on an airliner over the USA. I don't know how many wars your country has had with Muslims during your military enlistment, but the count is much higher for me. I don't know how many of your friends, neighbors, and relatives died in the last, first, or all the rest of the Muslim holy wars has been, but I can see in my lifetime, and in my family tree, and on the bases I was stationed on, that it's a bit more than a double digit number. When you start a comment with "killing someone for" and don't take into account that THEY STARTED THAT, and the next word was religion, the inference is Muslim religion, then the context of the big picture looks mighty different. I image the Jews feel the same about the Nazi flag. I don't recommend you flap out a Nazi flag on an airline either, point of fact. That's going to end much different than you're probably thinking. Just because it's a cube, on an arm, or a flag, over a seat, don't mean it's time for laughs and ice cream Over on this side of the Atlantic, we think about things a LOT differently than if we were in a country NO ONE has a beef with. IF and WHEN countries in the middle east start talking about death to Danes, you might get a new point of view. But for the past 35 years, since the 1979 Embassy hostage crisis of 444 days long Iranian hostility, and the 1st time the Bin Laden idiots tried bombing the trade towers in the parking lot, and the Boston Marathon, and the USMC barracks in Beiruit, and many other events, the Americans have had a much different reality than your countrymen have had. If you were Japanese and other countries with nuke bombs started agressive BS and hinted the bombers were likely to head in your direction, YOU TOO might feel a whole different way about other political morons with hostile intentions and replicating a historic massacre
Denmark has been at war in the Middle East ever since Bush wanted to find Iraq's 'weapons of mass destruction'. Went to war in Afghanistan too, and - the president's derogatory statements about other countries forces notwithstanding - suffered probably the highest number of casualties relative to a country's size. That comes from fighting in the toughest provinces. Add to this the uproar over the 'Mohammad cartoons', that put Denmark on the map too. So I'm not unfamiliar with what happens when you deal with fanatics.
Unfortunately the Western world has its own fanatics too, which is why I pointed out Mike Collins' and Laura Loomer's accusations on X. Accusations that that nobody - not even the FBI - found had any basis in fact. I can only imagine the shitstorm if the guy with the phone had said anything to that effect. Collins' and Loomer's scaremongering can be translated into votes, as too many people are willing believe anything thing a Moslem does must have malicious intent - even have a phone set for prayer time.
I'm fully aware that no matter how rational an argument I can put forth about this case is going to make you see the any other side of this but your own, just as my Moslem friends and colleagues are probably never going to think that they can have a sane conversation with people who just hate Islam. I personally have my doubts about the latter too.
Georgia congressman Mike Collins on X: "This flight from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale had an emergency stop in Atlanta due to a man yelling “Death to America! Death to Trump! I’m going to bomb the plane!” Fund TSA now. Get these terrorists out of our country."
Laura Loomer, also on X: "BREAKING: @SouthwestAir Southwest Airlines Flight 2094 from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale, Florida was forced to divert to Atlanta late last night after a an Arabic looking Muslim passenger onboard the plane threatened to blow the plane up with a bomb! You can see the SWAT team apprehend the Muslim passenger while terrified passengers were forced to put their hands up. Zero media coverage!!!! Share this everywhere!! DEPORT ALL MUSLIMS FROM AMERICA!! If you were on this flight, please DM me.
It is amazing indeed that this can happen and none of the large national news channels pick up on it!
I was going to add a comment after searching for this story and finding a nothing burger, but I see the link you added at the bottom says it all better than I could.
Do airlines have "no alarms" rules?
ReplyDeleteno, but they do have "no fanatical muslim nut jobs!" rules since 9-11, and for good reason
