DeleteCool story, this dreamlike character who is a 50/50 mix of Rambo and Mad Max - and even with a humanitarian twist. It's a safe bet that Danes would have celebrated him even more than we celebrated the tank commander that took out some Serbian ammo depots, but alas, we ever heard about him. Neither had friend of mine who in the 1990s was in Bosnia as part of the Danish armed forces.

Numbering a mere 6M souls, Denmark doesn't have the abundance of heroes and mad characters and crazy things going on that America has. So when somebody stands out like this guy would have if he was real, we do notice.
ReplyDeleteRemember the scene in 'Thelma & Louise' where a cop is locked in his cruiser's trunk, and a pot smoking bicyclist comes by? Don't know if that has ever happened, but America being America, it's not implausible at all either. (Not sure if an American director would have included such a scene).
