But have you ever heard of the Cinemobile? I never have until now

A 1936 Fiat 618, Carrozerria Viberti body, designed by Revelli of Beaumont, could project 35mm documentaries, newsreels, films with a Victoria projector, produced by the Milanese Cinemeccanica company.

It was an exceptional vehicle and movie making machine for the time, able to bring the cinema to areas isolated or without projection rooms in the early years when cinemas were rare, and many were without sound, however the cinemobile also is equipped with speakers giving those movie watchers their first experience with soundtrack movies, versus the old fashioned method of a pianist accompanying the movie for audio dramatic effect.

Today it is visible at the MIC of Milan, after being restored and present at the MUSIL of Brescia.

It had been abandoned in a junkyard in Rome in 1964, where it was found by a car collector a couple of years later
