omg, how has no one been featuring the art work of Edmond Calvo, in the Adventures of Rosalie? 1946. This is WOW anthropomorphic car and garage items at a Disney, or J. R. Neill level of incredibleness

    Hmm, Anthropomorphic cars and objects of all kinds has been around for a while, but I wonder, was this a catalyst for Disney/Pixar's "Cars"?

      I found an instant connection with the 2nd to last image, with the old car statue, just as Pixar has in Radiator Springs, of the old model T statue.

      But I think that Susie the Blue Coupe from 1952 was the inspiration for Pixar's Cars. Though, Mickey's Traffic Trouble back in 1931 used anthropomorphic cars. Susie however, was the same windshield for eyes style as Cars
