The examining committee and the MAUTO Board appointed Mariella Mengozzi as the most suitable to be chosen because of the years of experience in museum management, in the field of historic motoring, and good knowledge of the automotive sector as the most suitable to take up the position as manager with many years of experience in museum management in the field of historical motoring. good knowledge of the automotive sector, marketing and strategic planning, new business development, corporate communication, organization of events and research and management of sponsors, able to develop fundraising activities, and in particular to quickly integrate effectively the operational management of the Museum, as well as to start a growth path and promotion of the Museum, also at an international level.
Key areas I think that the board of directors are focused on, are not car related at all. Cars aren't what is important in a museum, fundraising, sponsors, growth, and profits are the only important issues.... as we've seen over and over, car people are too emotionally involved with the vehicles, and their museums always fold. Briggs Cunningham's, Harrah's, and the Hartough museum are clear examples of the wrong people running a museum, or shifting their collection from a private matter to a public museum for evading taxes, which then close when their motivated collector passes away.

After graduating in Law in Bologna and a Master in business management, Mengozzi has held positions of increasing responsibility in international companies, such as retail director in Walt Disney and later in Ferrari, where she dealt with Marketing and Strategic Planning, Sponsorship Management and New Business Development, Corporate Communication and the management of the Maranello Experience Business Unit, which includes the Ferrari Museum of Maranello and Factory Tours.
Mengozzi is not a car fetishist, instead drives a Renault minivan "because there are also bicycles to transport". And THAT shows how a pragmatic realist lives instead of a car enthusiast who instead drives a cool enjoyable car. That's the type of person you hire to run a business, not a leadfoot with irresponsible tendencies.

Right. Mengozzi isn't likely to take a one off million dollar car in the museum, out for a midnight joyride.
