if you bought this cheap enough, wow, what a great rv camper you could make! Tim and his son got this 1972 Ford C 60 running, and drove it out of the Idaho barn it had been stored in

Hidden away for about 15 years, but they spent about 6 hours waking it up, drain and clean the fuel system, add new fuel, new battery, did a little wiring repair and bled the brakes.

  1. Don't forget the 5 mpg and maybe 55 mph top speed. Great motor home if you are not in a hurry and have plenty of gas money! And they all leak water.

  2. Umm, That's a Chevy. A civilian I used to work with had a 45pax bus he converted into a camper he called his Welfairbago.

    1. Oh damn. It is indeed. I missed that pretty obviously. What's a 45pax bus?

  3. Got one: you can get 7mpg out of it, in good conditions. 55 mph top speed is true. But I don't have any leaks. Solid steel roof and body. I think that is one of the advantages over other mobile homes, which always seem to have leaks.

  4. Looks like you have the dreaded widowmaker split rims though.

    1. the bus might, I don't. I just post the photos and tell the stories. And you might be right, 1972 was the last year for the split rim widowmakers by Budd, https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2017/05/these-specific-rims-are-what-is-known.html
