With Mobil gasoline you could increase the power of your engine up to 25% ... bullshit.
Yeah, I know "up to" is the way they phrase it so they have a definition clause of backing down from their bullshit 25% claim. Fuck that.
I say they ought to be taken to court to prove ANY engine EVER made a 25% power increase on Mobil gasoline alone.
Maybe if they sold nitro, Otto Fuel, or those experimental fuels in the late 40s and 50s
A V8 engine of 322 cu.in. from Buick 1953 developed 164 hp .. and according to this advertisement, it could develop 205 hp with this essence.

Yes, and they say some day pigs my fly too, but I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteIn their defense - They never said 25% above what. Low octane crap fuel versus 103 in the same carburated engine would get you most of the way there. Same thing with straight ethanol in a regular engine, it wouldn't take much to gain 25%.
ReplyDeleteNope, huh uh. Get out of here with that until you're showing up with a video of whatever hypothetical engine you have in mind being run on two sources of fuel, brand X and this Mobil gas that they advertised to get 25% more power.
DeleteUntil then, what the fuck are you doing siding with the oil company advertising bastards?
How about Shell Gasoline wit "PLATFORMATE." What the hell was that suppose to be? Or Chevron F-310 Gasoline? I remember there add with a car with a weather balloon attached to the exhaust pipe. The difference being one was black plastic, with out F-310, and the other was clear, with F-310. Yeah right.
