too many excavators have gotten stuck, and sunk, underwater... this one was sadly too much trouble to get out for the insurance company. There just aren't enough experienced excavator operators out there that regularly get these unstuck... I've seen a dozen or more pulled out, and even posted the videos. It's very time consuming, but not difficult.
this machine has a brand new engine in it, so after several months of recovery attempts, and the insurance company paying out out on it for a total loss, the home owner wanted someone to come pull it out for basically free in return for making a YouTube video about the recovery. There are a LOT of people doing "unstuck", underwater, and recovery videos on Youtube now

Need Lumber Quick? 1920 Federal (pinstriped and lettered) in front of the business, and notice in the upper left corner of the photo, on the building corner, under the eave, is a clock. Intriguing.

I bet that the lumber company had just taken delivery and wanted to take a celebration photo of the new truck, that they could hang on the company president's office wall

what is in this photo is not obvious right away, but it's got a great story from Jackson county Georgia
Zach loaded his tractor up and filled stump holes and ruts, but didn’t need the fourth dirt pile at all, and intended to push it into the woods.
But then found… the tenant who had just leased one of the units at the back had a five year old son. That little dude had turned that last dirt pile into a VERY busy construction site.

So, of course, that dirt pile got to stay!
We won't know how happy all the dirty hands and feet have made his mom, but it has sure made me smile!
Keep digging, little man. Hopefully someone sees your joy and teaches you how to use a dozer, excavator, and a back hoe

impressive progress on the rebuild of the Clinchfield Railroad, (wiped out by Hurricane Helene) it's simply cool to watch the process of the boulders getting delivered, dumped, arranged, and the truckers going to get more

the excavators and dozer at the county public works project site that were vandalized, last weekend, to no one's surprise, were wrecked by a former employee of the excavation company
JFC, just TRAIN people to operate the gear, it ain't that effing hard, nearly everyone born since 1975 has played video games and has dual hand to eye coordination and can learn)
Included in establishing the timeline was footage from an Arkansas State Police trooper who wrote a ticket to Guthrie the night of the vandalism after a traffic accident, Robinson said. That allowed investigators to establish a timeline as Guthrie was on his way back to his Cabot home. It also showed Guthrie being muddy and wet, as were the conditions where the vandalism took place.
Records show Guthrie is still in custody in the Saline County Detention Center.
County Judge Matt Brumley said the damage to the area was extensive and not just to the equipment but the fuel and hydraulic fluid that was spilled into the creek, forcing the county to “abate the damage.”
the county’s Office of Emergency Management was successful in containing the spill and protecting nearby homes, but the final costs for equipment repair or replacement and environmental damage will range from $500,000 to $750,000, and a one-month delay in the project.
