Ever see a 1967 Impala SS427 hood? I never have until now, they only made 2100 of them. Thank you Lee! Thank you Kim!

Since you might not read the comments, I want to post what Lee wrote, as it's great information:

Originally, the 3x2 427 was going to be available on the 1967 SS427. But GM cancelled all multi carb engines except for the Corvette for 1967. That's what the hood means: Tr-Carb.

BTW, those hoods sell for between $10,000 and $20,000 depending on condition

Ron Pratte liquidated his collection of 140 vehicles, and donated all proceeds to the Armed Forces Foundation

The dual supercharged Cobra that had been the 5.5 million dollar sale some years ago when Carroll Shelby auctioned it off sold for 5.115 million this time...

The Futureliner went for 4 million, and the Bonneville Special that went with it sold for 3.3 million

Tuesday was the special sale day for 110 of Ron's vehicles, and Saturday was set aside for the best 30

Showing just how over rated, and over valued some cars were in the 2008 crazy auction price days, the Howard Hughes '53 Buick Roadmaster that Ron paid 1.6 million for went for 1/10th that amount this time... as no one really wants an inconsequential museum piece with very little notoriety. The racing planes Howard Hughes flew might for for millions, but some Buick? Nope. Not a lot of rich people want to go home with that.

The Blastolene B-702 French Curve went for 550,000

Chezoom went for 375,000

The Beverly Hillbillies truck by Barris went for 275,000

Coddington customs went for between 150,000 and 250,000

A COPO Camaro went for 330,00

A Yenko Chevelle went for 275,000

Le Bestione went for 143,000

the JF Customs Savoy wagon went for 242,000

The Crosley hook and ladder went for 115,500

the 62 WinterNats swiss cheese 61 Hurst Catalina Super Duty only went for 82 thou

What you did not know about the 1956 SR2 Corvette SS

The SR-2 (Sebring Racer) designation was given to three 1956 Corvettes. All of them left the factory as stock Corvettes, and were shipped to GM styling in Warren, MI for race modifications and cosmetic additions. This is the first of the three. In the spring of 1956, it was a known fact that the GM Head of the Styling Studio, Harley Earl, had a son Jerry who road raced a Ferrari. Management told dad he should be racing a GM car. Harley made a deal with his son: “If you sell the Ferrari, I will build you a special Corvette to race.”

This car, #2522, had the highest priority with no cost spared. Work began in May ’56 modifying the body, brakes and suspension. Special windscreens were installed for driver and passenger. The parking lights were removed allowing air to flow for front brake cooling. Fifty-five years ago this weekend, Earl debuted his SR-2 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. Dr. Dick Thompson completed the six hour race with a respectable finish. Jerry Earl continued to race the SR-2 throughout the 56-57 seasons and sold the car in 1958 to Jim Jeffords. National race champion Jeffords painted the car purple to match the moniker, “Purple People Eater,” named after the 1958 song by Sheb Wooley.

They sure help me find the things I recall having posted before, so I can add photos like these to the posts I want them in, or want to let you know where you can find similar things.
