Hi, first time commenter here. FYI, you don't have to go all the way to England to fly on a Lancaster. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario also has the other currently flying Lanc, and you can pay for a ride on it as well.
Yes, I posted about that last Sept. https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2017/09/only-around-17-intact-avro-lancaster.html 1st comment? Well, compliments on moving into commentary! How long have you been reading the blog?
Oh, ok. The way I initially read the title, it sounded like you were saying there was only one flying Lanc period.
I think I've been lurking since June, mostly checking out the article titles through RSS and opening the interesting sounding ones, but I've gone back to read some of your earlier stuff too.
I like the variety of your posts; you turn up some really interesting stuff, including the banner images. I've grabbed a couple of those to use as my desktop backgrounds.
I goofed up and never got back to finish the title! Lol, happens often. I start with an idea of what to post, jot a couple words in the title for the software to grab for a link, then start getting together the images and text for my post... most of the time I look it all over and edit so that I get rid of mistakes, but sometimes I forget. Anyway, glad you like the banners, did you know that you can look at hundreds of old banners by going to one link? http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search/label/banners You can alos go through all the incredible photography I've posted by looking up the tag "photography" and clicking on that http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search/label/photography
Hi Jesse, Just for clarification, the Lancaster ride you can get in the UK is "only" a taxying run. Meanwhile they are working towards getting the aircraft fully airworthy. The UK flying Lancaster is the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight example. Tony
