A 9-year-old Colorado boy who died by suicide last week had been bullied at school after announcing over the summer that he was gay and expressing his desire to share the news with his classmates, and that he wanted to dress more femininely after coming out his mother said.
“I could just imagine what they said to him,” mom Leia Pierce said of her son, Jamel Myles, who died four days after the start of classes at Joe Shoemaker School in Denver, according to local TV station KDVR. “My son told my oldest daughter the kids at school told him to kill himself.”
Jamel started his fourth-grade classes on Aug. 20. “Four days is all it took at school” before he took his own life

Look, I don't know why anyone needs to shove their shit down anyone else's throat, but lots of religious people feel compelled to make everything about their religion, gays seem to need to sashay their display of joie de vivre to everyone and have a frickin parade to upset the homophobes, and bullies seem to need to smack the happy out of anyone around them.
Clearly those 3 types of people are in catch 22 of mutual destruction, and it's going to end bad for only one of them.
People suck. I'm sure there's no avoiding that awhile we move through the day, and roll through the world around us, people with issues ain't going to catch a break anywhere, sometimes not even at home.
This shit is going to take a couple more centuries until we either get freedom from other people's religion and they have to tone down the crosses, jail the child rapist priests, the protests at funerals (fuck you Westboro Baptist Church) and quit knocking on doors to preach about their nonsense... or the hate is eventually diluted by more mixed race marriages, more families that have to temper their political hate because their kids are on the other side of the fence, (Senator Salmon and Portman) the Hollywood sexual abusers are outted and jailed (Cosby, Weinstein, Franken), or are self hating closeted Republican politician "family values" homosexuals that lashed out at all others for a lifetime (Alabama AG King, Senator Ashburn, state Senator Schrock, repeat candidate for congress from Arizona Babeau, congressman Bauman, congressman Allen, state representative Hinkle, senator Larry Craig, candidate Steve Wiles, state representative Boehning, state senator Shortey, etc) and I haven't stopped til I've included the drs that sexually assault women - most recently brought to light in the cover up by the women's USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University
The world can be a disgusting place, and it seems anyone in power abuses it somehow. Police, politicians, preachers, etc. If you can help someone out of a bad situation, do it. Do the right thing the rest of the time. Maybe someday fire fighters, cowboys, and fishermen will save the day.
