a hood scoop sold as an official Ford accessory may detach from the hood... and they didn't engineer for the amount of force the real world dishes out

 1200 of the 2021-2024 Ford Bronco Sport models equipped with the accessory hood scoop sold under part number VM1PZ-16C630-A and produced between November 12th, 2020, and February 21st, 2024 are part of the recall which only reimburses customers for the purchase price of the hood scoop.

How that's going to make someone satisfied, when they can't remove the scoop without fixing the mounting holes, I don't know. It should have been a replacement hood instead, and leave it to the Bronco owners to decide whether they'll chance their hood flying off and damaging the windshield and roof, and possibly other vehicles in traffic behind them, or, have a new replacement hood installed and the hood with a mounted scoop traded in.

variations in the way the 440 six pack hood have been built (factory fiber glass option in 1969, when buying a race car was legit from a dealership)

 

obviously these are not all Mopar made.

I bought one from Year One and put it on my Super Bee in 1996. I loved that lift off hood, and will get one for my 69 R/T probably next year or the year after that

Originally, the 3x2 427 was going to be available on the 1967 SS427. But GM cancelled all multi carb engines except for the Corvette for 1967. That's what the hood means: Tr-Carb.  

BTW, those hoods sell for between $10,000 and $20,000 depending on condition

someone found the 1st 1966 Mustang off the production line, and it's a Pony interior, and has the wood steering wheel and original AC!

But what impresses me more is the GT 350 hood on the wall. That's fucking amazing

The Qualls family hemi Challenger, a 1970 R/T SE Super Track Pak 4-Speed, and the factory goofed up, and lost in small claims court.

Three amazing things about this unrestored Challenger Godfrey Qualls bought back in 1969, are that it remains in its original family, it's a real 426 Hemi car, and the gator pattern vinyl top.

Godfrey Qualls was in the 82nd Airborne, the Green Berets, and special forces... and after getting out of the Army, he did 37 years in the Detroit Police Dept

But, the real unique thing about this Challenger is that it's the only non-N96 Shaker hood hemi Challenger in the 2017 MCACN Wellborn exhibit of shaker hood cars

 Also, it is still wearing the dealer-installed plastic seat covers, having nearly every piece of original paperwork and the original owner was a police officer from Detroit who sued Chrysler when that N96 was not on his new car

The story is that the automaker had discontinued the N96 Challenger due to safety concerns early in the model year, though more recent research has suggested the company had actually planned on holding it for a 1971 release and safety was an easy excuse. The bottom line was Qualls was unhappy enough that it was lacking that he went to small claims court and won a settlement in the spring of 1970 that included the replacement pieces. When the originating dealership wanted the car for a week to do the conversion, however, he decided he would be better served not allowing those line mechanics “testing” his car, and took the parts to do his own retrofitting.

Following some issues in the late 1970s, the Dodge was tucked away in a local private garage and would remain dormant for the next three decades.

the 1973 Firebird Formula SD-455 was listed by Pontiac as getting built with the twin scoop Formula hood. They didn't though, and they got the T/A shaker hood

The car did not arrive with the twin-scooped Formula hood ordered, but rather the Trans Am shaker hood. Pontiac made the switch on purpose, actually. There were so few Formula SD-455s built that, to simplify emission certification requirements, the Formula SD-455s got the same shaker as the Trans Am.

be a true friend, don't let your friend do drugs and put hood scoops on anything Road Runner derived. It's just not right. Super Birds, Road Runners, GTX, Belvedere, and Satellites... no adding hood scoops. It either has the 440 Six Pack lift off 1969 1/2 fiberglass A12 hood... or it was never meant to have fiberglass on the hood. Either it was blessed from the factory with the push button Air Grabber rising scoop from the carb, or it had a flat and lifeless hood. No mixing and matching!
