Overfilling the oil can result in dramatically more oil churning

Example: later 350Z engines would run sweet with oil 1/2 inch below min, but filling it to the half mark it went back to rough as dog at high rpm, and caused it to run hot when raced at the track

With a scraper plate the 370z engine had 20bhp more on dyno, and the hot oil when tracked problem was eliminated.
