In the 1920’s, the Ozark Trail Association organized a caravan trip from Joplin Missouri to Branson Missouri. The only way they could get anyone to go is to supply a parts and repair truck and a crew that fixed tires.
Each car had at least 6 or 7 flats along the way. This was a little over 110 miles, the stumps in the road were under 6” high. Took over a week for the round trip.
