plus a T Bird top and a Tiger top. I haven't seen a lot of auction catalogs, so, maybe it's common to have hardtops like these in collections... but I think it's an interesting collection just to themselves.
It looks like a lot of high quality items in this collection, including the tether cars and clockwork toy cars, outboard motors, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how many tribute cars there are, including a couple of Bugattis like the Tank race car and the Type 252, which was apparently only a prototype. Those two and some others I looked at have Jaguar engines, so maybe they were built on XK120 or similar chassis.
certainly are. I suspect he had replicas so he could enjoy driving them, and NOT storing them for the next owner. I bet it's impossible to get an insurance company to cover these cars he owned, for driving... hell, even Hagerty has limited mileage restrictions, on a 69 DODGE! But Ferrari? etc etc... must be a hell of a monthly insurance bill.
