The City of San Diego didn’t consult or notify anybody in the community before they did it, and the Mayor's office did NOT respond to the news channel for comment
Tonight, Apr 4th, residents have a chance to take their issues up with the city's transportation department during a virtual neighborhood meeting
WOW! I just can't believe how stupid government can be, wait, is that a red Hellcat Charger at 3.09? sure sounded good. Anyhow it seems like they don't want bikes to have to pass each other in different directions but hey it's OK for cars. And no input from the people that live there, incredible. ReplyDeleteThat's one of the dumbest effing road design ideas I've ever seen. The big thing where l live in northern NY is roundabouts. They're putting in ones so small that they can't even have an inside or outside curb so that bigger vehicles can use them without having to drive up and over them. All these great ideas from people who have a degree in civil engineering that says they're qualified? And worse yet it's amazing how many people can't figure out how to utilize them!
ReplyDeleteOne city near me added a bike lane next to an existing road with a speed limit of 35mph. They left a strip about 1 foot wide between the road and bike lane, where all of the mail boxes are planted. Another poor design in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteHere's the dirty secret in pueblo colorado: yes they put bike lanes in all over town. Very rarely do you ever see a single bike on them. Lot's of derelicts ride bikes around here. Not a single one of them ever uses bike lane. They do whatever they want. I wish they would do a study showing video's of bike lanes in use, because they would be a laughingstock of city planning. Just like all the wind turbines: have a real time website showing actual output with historical graph of past performance. Another big waste of money. But, doesn't matter, the real truth will be hidden.
ReplyDeleteThe most important thing to do is to never elect these people again. In the meantime, no question about it that the citizenry his got to present their case. Or, we can all wait until there are traffic accidents, at which time these politicians will blame some system but certainly not themselves. SAD
ReplyDeleteThe car parked up on the sidewalk needs to be towed. Sidewalks are not intended to support the weight of a car. When I lived in Great Bend there was a neighborhood where a pedestrian would have to walk in the street or on the lawns because of the cars blocking the sidewalks.
