Her grand dad was chairman of Lotus, he wanted to carry on the Chapman’s tradition of naming cars beginning with the letter E, and so, the Lotus Elise was named after her - Elisa

The last car I remember being named for a person was the Mercedes, and I covered that topic in 2015 https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2015/09/how-many-people-have-ever-had.html

    1. Let me stipulate, car named for someone that isn't running the company.
Named for someone that isn't even in the car business.
I bet there were hundreds of cars that were named for the owners, Mitchell, Duesenburg, Cord, Ford, Louis Chevrolet (Rickenbacker licensed his name)
I guess Lincoln counts, in the way that naming a car company or car for a famous unrelated person counts.
But Mercedes instantly jumped to mind because I once posted the story about the race car guy, and his daughter Mercedes. It was so long ago, I can't recall his name, and so far back I don't want to waste a half hour to find the link.

    1. thank you! I posted way back in 2012 https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2012/04/daimler-and-daimler-ag-and-daimler-benz.html
See, I have posted stuff, that I barely remember. Without his last name, it would have taken 30-60 minutes of digging through the archives to find that link, so, thank you for the name and that made the link I was hoping to find pop up instantly
