Autoweek sold out to Hearst, and to no one's surprise, has been shut down. 66 years of publishing a magazine when you're in control of your own fate, 0 years when you sell out to some greedy corporation who then sees you as unprofitable
Yes, he was the source of the helmet that Autoweek has used as their logo for 60 some years. They correctly assumed we would appreciate the tribute, and the legacy, and history of their helmet and it's place on the cover of all Autoweek issues (upper left) with a send off on their last print issue with the reason they admired it
my pessimistic guess, of corporate take overs, is to eliminate the competition, and absorb their employees for your own profitablility. Hearst owns Car and Driver, and Road and Track I think it was.... anyway, the competition to Autoweek. Now, they have eliminated the competition, and gained the writers and staff for the magazines that will continue to be printed
That is truly a shame because Auto Week was a great periodical. What fools.

DeleteMan that sucks. Why take over if you are just going to shut down an institution?
