Keith Moon, one of the most extraordinary drummers that ever was, had a couple of problems. One was destroying things. His Ferrari Dino lasted a month.
he said he loaned it to a biker, who lost control and put it into a ditch
Unfortunately he also destroyed himself. He was one of the few truly brilliant rock drummer, possibly second only to Cream's Ginger Baker - a pretty destructive guy too, although still alive.
The Who never recovered the loss. Next time you hear them, notice how lead singer Roger Daltrey and Keith Moon work in sync.
Despite the collection of cars, and driving one into a swimming pool (trying to escape the police), and accidentally running over and killing his friend and chauffer (trying to escape from a pub mob), he never held a driving licence.

ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard that he'd killed his chauffer! Damn, that must have gotten him lots of unwanted police attention
