I saw it in 1968 or 1969, as I still lived in Copenhagen then. I would have been 13 or 14 years old, and already heavily into sci-fi. But I've seen the movie numerous times since then.
In early school years we had an awful music teacher, who managed to make most of us hate classical music. I credit '2001' for making me like it again (listening to this right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFoT6UUNLZc).
Racing and classical music is a perfect match: https://vimeo.com/12215744
ReplyDelete(Ever since seeing '2001', I can't hear 'The Blue Danube Waltz' without seeing Kubrick's spaceship landing on the Moon)
Sorry Kim, but this begs the question, when did you see it? I saw it when it first came out back in '68.
