In Northern Wisconsin are a 20-28 connected lakes near the town of Three Lakes, Indiana has 9 (Chain 'O Lakes), Michigan's UP Cisco Chain of Lakes has 15, Michigan's LP has the Huron River Watershed and Chain of Lakes

 You could spend days just floating around fishing and camping like this.
