A photograph of a Formula 1 car shows you what it looks like. A Giorgio Piola drawing shows you how it works.

coolest thing I saw today, Slices Of Life, by Qu Tianran, up for the Eisner Award for Best Painter/Multimedia Artist!
with a one page, or two page piece of art, Qu conveys a cool or beautiful moment that many people see, but don't pause and enjoy.
you can save a lot of money by simply looking at the art on Instagram,
I've only shared the vehicle ones, that's what's relevant here, but I heavily recommend you look at the tribute to Monet's lily pond. If you know someone who loves art, then get them some of Qu's books, for birthday or Xmas gifts. Click the links, you'll be impressed, and see why

Sean Murphy's latest solo project (famous for outstanding comic book illustrations, graphic novels, and Batman) is published SIDEWAYS--a wider format helps capture all the car mayhem!
"In the future of America, cars have been outlawed. The people have gotten use to the comfort and convenience of PODS, giving power and control to the Money Barons who secretly control the cities. The only driver left is a man named CLUTCH--a smuggler (and retired stuntman/race car driver/overall badass) who's forced to get behind the wheel ONE LAST TIME in order to save his granddaughter. What starts out as a simple car chase quickly turns into a political upheaval as onlookers start seeing Clutch as a revolutionary hell bend on regaining the freedom that most Americans have surrendered."
Think "Escape from NY" meets "Vanishing Point".
Also, the book is published SIDEWAYS--a wider format will help me better capture all the car mayhem!
I posted about Sean last August when I discovered his incredible art https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2025/08/you-can-be-damn-sure-when-artist-has.html

hand painted Mini pick up, inspired by the 303 squadron, the most successful fighter squadron, consisting of 95% Polish pilots, in the Battle of Britain (thank you Shas!)
Shas corrected my post, with some accurate facts (thank you Shas!)
the non polish members of the 303 were flight commander John Kent, a Canadian from Winnipeg serving in the RAF, and Josef František a bit eccentric Czech pilot that entered Polish service after the III Reich annexed Czechoslovakia and he fought with the 303rd to his end in a crash near Cuddington Way. At that time he was number 4 top ace pilot in all allied forces.

this is so typically odd... an artist who is so talented, unable to pay the bills with art, has to have a regular job to pay the bills.... David Wright, famous pin up artist, was a driving instructor!
During the war he worked as a driving instructor for the armed forces in Abersoch, Wales, which left him plenty of time to continue his illustration work.
