San Diego High School's modern football field originally was the Balboa Bowl, used for the school, for midget and jalopy racing, and later, for the Chargers on weekends. (thank you Sharon!) And the Beatles played there in 65! (thank you Jon!)

I posted the Beatles getting transported to the Balboa Bowl, in Aug 65, which was the 1st open air  concert in San Diego in 2016 https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2016/02/the-beatles-enroute-to-shea-stadium.html  because they traveled there in a Wells Fargo armored truck typically used for moving money
