I believe this is known as the Law of Diminishing Returns, and the application of it to traveling at car speeds, and how speeding at reckless speeds doesn't seriously improve your arrival time

    I once calculated driving time from Cuba Ks, to Eugene Oregon. The difference between 55 mph and 6o mph was only 2 hours.

    True but put another way, 10 miles takes 1 hour at 10MPH, 1/2 hour at 20MPH and only 5 minutes at 120MPH.
