if you aren't looking carefully at the ground you are about to drive over, you might miss some very strange problems that are easy to miss... like this attempted pothole repair... that accomplished nothing!
Hole is too deep to fix at one layer of asphalt. They needed to put in about 2 inches at a time and pack/tamp the shit out of it. Then add 2 more inches and pack/tamp. And so on.
