wow... it's been a long time since I've watched a lap of the Isle of Man TT. Skip the first 90 seconds, he doesn't accelerate for a couple seconds after that. Thank you Steve!

  1. That's wild! The fastest speed I saw on the speedo was 314 km/h.

There was a story on 60 Minutes recently about the Isle of Man and the TT. They showed a former racer who takes new riders around the course on a group ride. He makes the decision of whether they are ready to race.

    1. I did some math with some 300ish kph to MPH and it was around 185 mph, yikes! With as much change of direction as quick as they must in such succession, these riders must have this route memorized, every curve, every rebound of suspension, etc

    2. That's right, and he only slowed down to about 90 mph going through the towns. I just skimmed through your posts with the Isle of Man label, and the course is 37.8 miles and I don't know how many corners. That's a lot to remember and try to get right to make a good lap.

  2. I've watched a lot of these videos and it still blows my mind. Pure insanity with total confidence. These guys are doing Formula One level driving on two wheels!

    1. wow, that's an astute observation... I never considered it like how it compares to any other racing, and the speed the other race normally races on a track at... but this further makes the Isle of Man incredible, when your observation on the F1 level of speed, reaction, etc, is your filter for how the riders skill is regarded... thank you!
